The Alerts pane displays all alerts occurring on all stations connected to the TrustPort Management. These alerts are generated by various applications situated on the stations and provide information about various important situations or events, such as the detection of a virus. Alerts are sorted according to priority into critical, high, normal and low. Critical alerts are sent from the station to the server immediately while all other priorities of alerts are sent when synchronizing the station with the server. If a critical alert cannot be sent immediately, then it will be sent as a different alert with a lower priority. The alerts are supplemented with an icon representing their priority for better transparency. Warning! Alerts are displayed in the list in the same language as the application that generated them, ie. if there is more than one language used in the network, the list of alerts will reflect this. The language of the TrustPort Management console does not affect the language used in the text message of alerts.
It is possible to filter the list of alerts displayed according to the generating application or alert level. To do this, use the Filter pull-down menu found in the top right part of the pane above the list of alerts. As there can be a large quantity of alerts stored on the server, these are arranged into so-called 'pages'. Use the < and > buttons to navigate between page listings of alerts. Alerts are sorted from newest to oldest. This means that the first page displays the most recent list of alerts. Use the Refresh button to bring the page up-to-date, including any new alerts recently generated. Alerts can be deleted by clicking the Clear All button. When deleting all alerts at once a confirmation dialog box will appear after clicking the Clear All button to confirm the user's intention to proceed.
Click on each alert entry to open an entry with detailed information about that given alert. For example the application, which generated this alert entry, and the whole warning text are displayed here. Critical alert entries are automatically opened in the list and background of these entries is colored with the red color. All the others entries background isn't colored and it's displayed only certain part of warnings message. You must click to these entries if you want to see their warning messages complete.
TrustPort Management periodically deletes alerts that are older than a specified amount of days. This process occurs regularly at a specified time. The amount of days old an alert must be and the time the deletion is performed are set in the Policy pane of TrustPort Management. Only alerts older than a specified amount of days will be deleted from the list of alerts. The amount of days can be set in the Policy tab and in the Servers->Settings->Alerting service->Automatic cleaner->Delete alerts older than (days) item in TrustPort Management console. The initial setting is 7 days.
