The Register Pane

This pane is not normally displayed, because under the standard settings all stations are automatically registered to the TrustPort Management. If you need to individually set which stations are to be managed by the TrustPort Management, then set the policy item on the TrustPort Management server found under the path TrustPort Management->Server->Settings->Registrations->Automatic client registration to the value of No. After saving the change and synchronizing the policy on the server, log out and after logging in again the Register menu option will be displayed.

Registration requests
If the register pane is active, then every installed station (every client) sends a registration request to the listing under this tab. Without a completed registration, it isn't possible for a station to connect to the system and synchronize policies and/or pending updates, and that station cannot be administered by TrustPort Management. The TrustPort Management administrator can allow or deny the registration request by checking the box located next to each station entry. Full station identity details including IP address and domain name to which the station belongs (if applicable) have been provided for correct identification of each station. Also displayed are the date and time of the registration request. Stations are listed in order of their request times as described above.

Use the check box to select which stations to register and perform registration by clicking the Register selected stations button. Denying the registration of stations is possible by selecting individual stations and then clicking the Deny selected stations button. All stations can be either selected or unselected at once by using the small buttons in the Select table header above the individual station check boxes.

Up to the time a station is either registered or denied, it will periodically (the standard being 5 minutes) attempt to verify its registration status. If registration was allowed, then the station profile on the server is created after the following verification of registration status, and its name is removed from the list of registration requests. The station is assigned to the Unclassified group of stations and automatically inherits the group's policies. The station logs in to the server and after another predetermined time interval performs its first synchronization with the server. If the registration request was denied, then the the request details are transferred to the list under the Denied registration requests tab and from then on it won't be possible to view its status and will appear as inactive.

Denied registration requests
This list contains all the stations whose registration was denied by the TrustPort Management administrator. This list serves only for information purposes. Any amount of stations can be deleted from this list at any time. Select stations individually by clicking the check box next to the station name or select all by clicking the small button in the Station table header. Click the Delete selected records button to remove selected stations from the list.
